IPOWER Informer

Happy New Year from IPOWER! 2006 was an exciting year for IPOWER. We celebrated some major achievements. In March, we had 400,000 customer accounts and by June we hit the half-million mark. Now we have over 700,000 customer accounts! We received two prestigious honors last year. IPOWER was ranked #121 in Inc. magazine's Inc. 500 and was named a Rising Star by Deloitte & Touche as part of its Technology Fast 500 rankings. We are also excited about our new, 32,000+ square foot data center in downtown Phoenix, which we have been ramping-up since August. This data center will be a strong and exciting part of IPOWER's growth plans for the future.

Of course, our achievements in 2006 could not have been possible without great customers like you. We truly value your business and look forward to helping you succeed in the New Year. May the New Year also bring you much health and happiness.

Sincerely,

Thomas Gorny
President & CEO

Analytics Software Improves Paid-search CampaignsBy Kerry Murdock, Publisher

John Marshall wants to know what happens after the click.

Marshall is CEO and founder of ClickTracks, a company providing software to analyze the online behavior of website visitors.

"It's not enough to purchase keywords on a search engine merely to attract visitors to a website," Marshall said. "They must be the right type of visitors. Our analytics software helps website operators make decisions so that their paid search listings actually make them money."

Experts agree that buying keywords on a search engine without testing and tracking those keywords will bring, at best, mixed results. What's important, say the experts, is to use quality analytics software that follows purchased keywords and keyword phrases from the moment a visitor clicks on a sponsored-search ad (on a search engine) to the visitor's activity on a website.

For example, say a website owner, we'll call him Dave, sells video cameras. Say Dave purchases the phrase "cheap video cameras" at Google for $1 per click. (That is, Dave pays Google $1 each time a Google visitor types "cheap video cameras" and then clicks on Dave's video camera ad.)

Nabity Photoswww.nabityphotos.com

For Ron Nabity, freelance photographer and owner of Nabity Photos in Sacramento, Calif., one of the biggest challenges he has in his business is the "FUD" factor. FUD stands for fear, uncertainty and doubt - three certain deal breakers when it comes to acquiring new clients. However, his website usually takes care of the FUD factor by showing prospective clients just how good his skills are as a photographer and gives them all the information and tools they need to easily do business with him.

Nabity's site shows his photographic range with an online portfolio displaying his extensive wedding, event, portrait, fine art and commercial work. His online portfolios are separated by type and are easy to scan through. Potential clients can view pricelists, service descriptions and read more about Nabity and his mission and values online as well. "This gives clients an unobtrusive way to consider my services without the pressure of face-to-face interaction," says Nabity.

Before Nabity went live with his website, most of his clients were local. Nabity claims his client contacts rose by 200% since his website was launched, and now he is not limited by just local promotions and word-of-mouth. In fact, his thorough website has helped him land photography assignments from clients as far away as Japan and Austria.

Nabity uses his website as a handy extension to his business as well. Immediately after he finishes covering a wedding or commercial photo job, he creates an online proof gallery for the client to begin viewing the /images/enewsletter. "This gives the client immediate feedback about the quality of the /images/enewsletter they are buying as well as keeping their enthusiasm alive," he says.
