With so much technology out there today, it's a wonder why medical personnel have such a difficult time accessing patients' medical records. Norman Eisenberg, the President of SGMS Corp, went through a three-month process to gather all of his medical records from various clinics and hospitals to have them in one central location. Once he had them all, he realized that the large folio he needed to contain them was too much. He knew there had to be a better way. That is how he came up with the idea to help solve this problem - Medical USB Flash Drive Wristbands. He markets them on his website www.sgmscorp.com, which is powered through IPOWER.
"My accountant recommended IPOWER because of his great experiences with them," Eisenberg explains. "It's been great so far because the prices are competitive and the people have always been very helpful." Eisenberg describes himself as not being a "techie" when it comes to website design and upkeep, but that is not a problem with IPOWER. "Even if they cannot answer a question on the spot, they will find the answer and get back to me as quickly as possible." This has helped the website evolve into what it is now.
Although the company has officially been up and running for two years, Eisenberg says the first year wasn't very active. About three months ago, he added some new features to the site. There is now a two-minute video introduction that gives visitors to the site a thorough introduction to their product. They also have video clips within the site including a news release describing the product and a demonstration on how to use the product once you purchase it. On the FAQ pages, some of the questions are answered with both text and sound. "The customers love the new additions to the site," Eisenberg explains. "One said it's like reading a good book - they couldn't wait to get to the next page." This product is such a new concept that people might be hesitant to purchase it, but these new features on the site really help the consumers see what it's all about and answer their questions. After adding these features to the site, Eisenberg says they've seen a 40% increase in hits to the site as well as a 15% increase in sales of their products.
Of course, people need to get to the site before the see all of its neat features. Eisenberg utilizes search engine optimization and for helping draw people to the site and the design of the site for keeping people there. "The site has a two minute opening video that will not only shock you but inform you about the statistics about medical mistakes and wrong site surgeries. It's an eye opener," Eisenberg explains. "I also have a sign-in book that helps me find out where people come from and who views my site." Eisenberg goes on to explain that everyone who signs into the guestbook gets a response from SGMS Corp within two days and they are able to convert 18% of these hits into sales. Even when people don't sign in, Eisenberg can still track where they come from by checking on the reports generated with each visit. They also advertise on television in Miami, Florida and Denver and Aurora, Colorado as well as on local cable and in magazines and newspapers.
Eisenberg takes advantage of the tracking systems provided by his IPOWER service. "They give me the numbers of visitors in the months and the hits per month as well as the hours. I can even cull out the time of the day and the day of the week that I receive the most hits." That helps him know what days and months are the best times to spend his advertising money. "We can tailor our advertising programs so that we optimize our exposure and do not waste time or money advertising to a blank screen," he explains. This past year he has had 3-4 television exposures. "They were on CNN, NBC and ABC in the Florida area. There hasn't been anything regional or national yet, but already business is booming from them."
All in all, with the ability to add new features to the site and the tracking to know when and where to advertise, Eisenberg knows that his website will continue to make his business successful. One of the newest features Eisenberg is working on is an infomercial that he plans to put up on the Internet. "I also plan to go further with the TV angle by perhaps getting on AM New York or other big shows to get people to my website."
